It's here, it's December, it's Re-Treat Design's "Decking Our Halls" on November 30, December 1 & 2 and then "More Please" on December 7, 8 & 9.  We have lots of things to love including: primitive snowmen, crystal candleholders, homemade soaps, unique jewelry, vintage sleds, yooper flannels, old skis, paper whites, creative household decor and more. The shop is bursting with great things and we will be refreshing with new goods each day! It's going to be two great weekends of fun so don't miss out. November 2, 3 & 4 - Oh! What Fun!

Goodbye October..Hello November! Yes, it's already that wonderful time of year where summer has disappeared out the back door while winter is knocking on the front. The recent snows have really gotten us excited for the holidays and we are sure this month's Re-Treat will get you in the mood too! Fun snowmen, comfy flannel shirts, holiday scented candles, warm blankets, and more are sure to get you thinking of days ahead with family and friends. Oh! What Fun! ... you say! Why that just happens to be this month's Re-Treat Design theme! Hope you can be here this week, Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. October 5, 6 & 7 - I'll Get You My Pretty

A spin on the wizard of Oz this month with I'll Get You My Pretty. Lots of beautiful (pretty) things to discover throughout the store. Whether it's a cozy flannel adorned with an outline of the U.P. or an assortment of pumpkins to decorate your space, you can find it at Re-Treat. Fall is always one of our favorite times as oranges, browns, and yellows just feel like home. Decorate your space with some cozy finds or get yourself some "Pretty".  Join us Thursday for the best selection: 5pm-8pm, then come back Friday 10am-6pm or Saturday 10am-4pm. Refreshing the stock throughout the weekend so you never know what you might find.

September 7, 8, & 9 - Harvest Moon

Fall is here! Actually I don't think we ever had summer so let's just celebrate fall. We spent the weekend in Copper Harbor helping with the annual Copper Harbor Trails Fest and the difference in leaf color between Friday and Tuesday was dramatic. If you can't stop it, you can only embrace it. In tune with the season, Re-Treat Design has been transformed into autumn. Oranges, browns, blacks, witches, pumpkins and more await you this month. New furniture pieces and lots of fresh goods can be found. Hope you can join us for fall, already...yes, fall...

August 3, 4, & 5 - Re-Treat Flea

It's our favorite event of the year! It's Re-Treat Flea Weekend! Thursday (5pm-8pm) and Friday (10am-6pm) are typical Re-Treat openings but watch for sale items sprinkled throughout the store. Then, on Saturday, it's our outdoor Flea Market featuring select vendors offering fun goods under the sun. Of course Re-Treat is also open during the outdoor Flea. The Flea Market runs from 10am-4pm but you should arrive at 10am for the best selection. So much fun inside and out! Hope to see you there.

July 6, 7 & 8 - Summertime!

"I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June." Although it's been a rainy few months, I think we can all agree that we have finally found summer. Family and friends are heavy on our agendas, daylight seems to last forever, and outside time is treasured. Summertime is not just a season but a state of mind. This month we bring you "Summertime" at Re-Treat. Stop in and find beautiful things, vintage things, and special things to decorate your space (inside and out), for entertaining or for yourself during these long summer days. June 1, 2 & 3 Weathered and Worn

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!” ~Hunter S. Thompson

This is one of my favorite quotes and I think of it every time I come home with new bruises from an outdoor adventure. It seems that not only us but our homes should also tell a life story, weathered and worn has character and a history that bright and shiny does not. What is your favorite piece in your home? I bet it is not new but a family heirloom or a unique vintage piece that you discovered on a excursion with family or friends. Maybe a coffee table that was dragged back from a flea market in Minnesota with it's stained top from a life most likely in a workshop or barn and legs revealing shades of leftover blue, grey and white paint? If that coffee table could talk, it would also say what a ride....and now it is part of my story...

May 4, 6 & 7 - Come Be Inspired

We are open Thursday 5-8pm (and Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am-4pm)! This month's theme is "Come Be Inspired" and we are pretty sure all of us can use a little Spring inspiration about now. There is no better time to refresh your home with a few new ideas hopefully Re-Treat can be of some help on the motivation front. It seems the shop is bursting with lots of bright colors, fun finds, and vintage treasures for your porch, your living room, or you mom (?). Oh, yes, this is your reminder that mother's day is coming up on Sunday, May 14th. Inspirational ideas: soaps, candles, necklaces, planters, and more. You are welcome :) See you this weekend!

April 6, 7, & 8 - Vintage Treasures (7th Anniversary!)

Seven. Lucky number seven. It's our seventh anniversary of doing this thing called the occasional sale. I'm not sure any of us would have thought that Re-Treat Design would become of a fixture on the calendar of so many of you and for seven years. We have had great fun bringing you "Vintage Treasures, artwork, and inspiration each and every month and we hope you continue to enjoy the ride along with us. And yes "Vintage Treasures" is our theme this month as at the foundation of every Re-Treat weekend are the interesting, sometimes quirky, but always changing vintage goods brought in by our vendors. Top those vintage finds with some great artwork and inspirational creations and you have Re-Treat Design! Thanks to all of you that have made our last seven years a tremendous adventure.

March 2, 3 & 4 - Create "Your" Look

If someone asked, how would you describe your home?  What is your look? We are all fortunate to be able to pull inspiration from the bottomless distraction that we call the internet. Pinterest, Houzz, Etsy, etc. and then combine that with creative magazines, retail catalogs, and your friend down the road...it's always a challenge to know where to start on decorating your space. Fortunately in addition to this virtual world, we try at Re-Treat Design to bring you tangible inspiration that rotates each month and season. It's so much better to touch and feel, be part of your surroundings, and be able to bring that new find home. This month we challenge you to think about "your" look and if you are up to the challenge, tell us about by sharing through words and pictures on our facebook page. February 2, 3 & 4 - Thrill of the Hunt

We're back! Wow that January (not open month) sure went fast so let's talk about February. This month, we are already looking ahead to spring by featuring bright colors, fun gifts, and seasonal goods. We know many of you come each month to explore and it takes a few laps to discover all the things we've layered around the store. So this month "Thrill of the Hunt" is  Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. If you want to get a head start, please visit our facebook page for some previews! It's going to be a good one! And yes there's a little bit of Valentines and little bit of Easter.

December 1, 2, & 3 Yule Love This! AND December 8, 9, & 10 More Please!

Yes it is pretty much December and yes there is two weeks of Re-Treat this month! It's our annual holiday extravaganza with Re-Treat busting at the seems with fun things, great finds, and inspiration. Our vendors really knocked it out of the park for December so we know you will find something cool for you and maybe a gift or two to give.   Come visit Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. We will be refreshing throughout the weekend and will be bringing you new things during week two for More Please! November 3,4, & 5 - It's a Marshmallow World

Some of us can't wait for the snow to arrive and with it the excitement of the holiday season! Re-Treat this month has made it's annual slide into winter with our theme "It's a Marshmallow World". Yes, the joy of another change of seasons is upon us and Re-Treat is ready with snowmen, and trees, and more snowmen, as well as great gifts and the usual fun finds. We hope you have some time to stop by and help us usher in the holiday season! Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.

October 6, 7, & 8 - Double Toil and Trouble

'Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble' is one of the most famous lines in English literature. Do you know where it's from and who spoke it?  Yup, witches...in one of Shakespeare's most famous works. The words apply as we toiled to get the shop ready for this weekend and as usual we hope for you to find some trouble (make than fun) this weekend.  

Fall is pushing out the doors with autumn decor and pumpkins galore. Be sure to stop in Re-Treat and visit in between getting out to enjoy the quickly changing colors.

September 8, 9, & 10 - Autumn Blessings

Hello, Autumn. It's nice to see you again. While it has been a lovely, long summer, we always look forward to the colors of fall. Yes, there are hints of colors amongst the trees and the vibrant green of summer is giving way to what will be a beautiful vibrant explosion of color. At Re-Treat, we have boxed up the remnants of summer including the pink colors and flowery finds and have replaced them with shades of orange and pumpkins galore (a preview of things to come).

The change of season is a welcome reminder of our fortunate life in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Hope to see you for Re-Treat's "Autumn Blessings".  We will be open Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.

August 4, 5, & 6 - Re-Treat Flea

Re-Treat Flea! It's that time of the year when we mark down goodies that have been hanging around a little too long or we are just tired of seeing. It's also the weekend that we take the fun outside on Saturday by inviting our friends to set up their own booths. This weekend we will have our regular occasional sale on Thursday 5pm-8pm and Friday 10am-6pm, then on Saturday our outside market and shop will be open 10am-4pm.  Always a good time with fun people and fun finds. This is a can't miss event. Hope you can join us!

July 7, 8, & 9 - Star Spangled Summer

Yay summer! It always seems so far off as we are watching the world around us turn green in May then boom just like that it's 4th of July and we've already mowed the lawn four times.  I actually think we may have skipped June. On the plus side, sometime in the last few weeks we have flipped the shop and it is ready for our July Re-Treat opening.  This month we bring you lots of fun finds, some great new paintings, beautiful furniture, and original things.  As always, join us July 7th-9th (post 4th festivities) and explore what's new this month. June 2, 3 & 4 - We Are Your Happy Place!

Each month on Thursday we have a line of friends (customers) waiting to come in the door.  It's exciting to see the smiles on your faces as you enter and explore the new vignettes seeking out fun things for yourself or for others. It really is a happy place of inspiration but also a place to recall memories as stories are shared around an old dresser that may remind you of your childhood.  We love those stories.  And since we flip the store each month, every opening you get to do discover all over again. We are grateful to be a part of your monthly calendar and we thank you for making Re-Treat a happy place.
