Think Spring - March 3, 4 & 5

~ "Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush." ~

Just last week we were towing the trailer through record snows in Minneapolis in an attempt to gather more goods for this month’s sale. Don’t worry, we survived the storm and managed to bring back some great chippy cabinets, metal baskets of all sorts, and miscellaneous fun. We want to tell you that spring is just around the corner, but the pessimist (actually optimist) in us thinks we've got many weeks of winter left. Here at Re-Treat, Christine and I both love snow, cold and winter fun but we also love all that is spring. So just for this week we’ll be bringing you a little spring love with birds, plants and flowers, vignetted with local art and vintage finds.

Thousands of Pages Unfold in the Bitter Cold - It's Winter Carnival Time and We Will Be Open!

Well we broke our first weekend of the month rule again. Okay it is just a guideline as we adjust to our schedules and to the events around us. This month it's the Michigan Tech Winter Carnival. We will be open February 10th thru the 12th (Thursday night thru Saturday) so Winter Carnival visitors can also have some fun exploring Re-Treat.

Since the theme for Carnival is basically books, we've torn off covers, we've torn out pages and we've strategically placed them throughout the store along with all our new finds from the last couple months.

Of course it's also Valentine's Day time so we've got a few hearts laying around too for your special someone...

December 9, 10 & 11 - "More Please"

We weren't sure how we'd pull it off but we are ready for weekend #2 of December, "More Please." You asked for it and I hope we delivered. There's lots of new items including birch bark and twig arrangements, adorable cedar deer, winter scene bark cloth pillows, new jewelry and of course our usual fresh finds. We've put some extra hours in turning the store over so it is once again new to you if you visited last weekend.

This Saturday we will also have Angela Carter from Alternative Chic giving a trunk show with more of her original recycled copper jewelry. It's a trunk show you don't want to miss plus she'll be taking custom orders if she doesn't have what you are looking for.

Celebrate!

It's here, it's December, it's Re-Treat "Celebrate the Season"! We've got lots of things to love including: primitive snowmen, crystal candleholders, homemade soaps, local honey, unique jewelry, vintage sleds, old skis, paper whites, creative household decor and more. Stop in throughout the weekend as we will be continuously adding new goods each day.

December - Two Weekends of Re-Treat

The holiday season is here! We will be giving you two weekends of Re-Treat this December in order to provide you extra opportunities for holiday shopping. The first two weekends of December will include "Celebrate the Season" followed by "More Please". Watch for preview photos in the next couple weeks as we are furiously gathering more goods and preparing the store.

Halloween then November

The days are shorter, the nights are cold and the leaves have left the trees. It's only a matter of time before winter snow blankets the ground...

You may not be ready for snow but we are already getting ready for November's opening...holiday traditions. Think dinner with family and friends...snowmen and santas...staying home by a warm fire.

October is Upon Us

Orange, red, brown...these are the colors of Fall. Join us on Thursday night for our October opening and see what we've created for this month's sale. Vignettes of pumpkins, Halloween creatures and primitive finds await visitors this weekend at our "Change of Seasons".
