"Winter Wishes" - November 29, 30 & December 1

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” ― Edith Sitwell

Re-Treat is here, already, again and for two weekends this month! We will be open Thursday night 5-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm and Saturday 10am-4pm and we'll do it all over again next week. It's a focus on home this month with holiday vignettes throughout the store. It's hard not to think about the holidays as the outside is blanketed with snow and the lake effect machine seems to have been turned on. Come on in from the cold to "Winter Wishes" and enjoy exploring our little wonderland at Re-Treat. Oh - and don't forget to do it all over again next week at "More Please"!

Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season. And just a reminder - Re-Treat closes up for the month of January. Yes, we know you'll miss us but we use January to clean, purge, paint and to get ready for a new year.

"Primitive Pastimes" - July 5, 6 & 7

"I think the reason that people like primitive decorating is that it takes them back to a simpler time. That is one reason why antiques are so popular. I know they are collectible, too, but for the most part, the rustic country look is homey and comfortable." When we think about primitives, it conjures up a wide range of things from a well worn cabinet to a tattered teddy. What it is really about is items that have been loved. This month is "Primitive Pastimes" and is all about showing the love for simpler times and simpler things. We have many wonderful items and ideas this month at Re-Treat and we welcome you to come explore and make a few laps so you don't miss anything.

"Forever Cottage" - May 3, 4, & 5

"Cottage decorating is a mixture of light colors, comfortable fabrics and furniture and accessories that is easy on the eyes with a vintage appeal." It is one more way to decorate any type of home but provide the ambience of a 'cottage'. The word cottage conjures up a place where you desire to spend time with friends and family, doing whatever activity you love. This month Re-Treat is sharing our cottage-style finds with you. We have to say we are really full, so plan to spend some extra time doing an extra lap or two of the store to see everything.

"Long Live Vintage" - April 5, 6 & 7

"It is easily overlooked that what is now called vintage was once brand new."
~Tony Visconti

We believe that there are things that are just old and there are things that are timeless and deserving of the title "vintage". To call something vintage, just means it has a little more character, a little bit of charm and a little bit of history. Everything in Re-Treat each month has a story all its own. Sometimes we know the story, sometimes we don't but we do know the story will live on. Each time you take home a special item, you are continuing the story and sharing the love of vintage with your friends and family. Yes, we know...not everyone gets "it". That's okay, you can always join others that do each month at Re-Treat...Long Live Vintage!

"Re-Organize" - March 1, 2 & 3

Nothing makes you feel better than a well-organized home. Vintage goods are a great way to clean up that mud room, sort paperwork or get those coats under control. This month we have a wonderful assortment of wire baskets, primitive hook boards, organizers and a large armoire just waiting to go home with you. It's also that time when we start thinking about spring flowers...so despite the large piles of snow outside, there is a little spring love thrown in!
