Yes it is pretty much December and yes there is two weeks of Re-Treat this month! It's our annual holiday extravaganza with Re-Treat busting at the seems with fun things, great finds, and inspiration. Our vendors really knocked it out of the park for December so we know you will find something cool for you and maybe a gift or two to give. Come visit Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. We will be refreshing throughout the weekend and will be bringing you new things during week two for More Please! And with that a quote about snow, because well snow...we need it! "Flakes, flurries, swirls, crystals, whatever form it comes in. I'll take it. We go back, snow and me. We have a beautiful history." ~Lorelei Gilmore
We hope you are able to enjoy a lot of time with friends and family during the holiday season. See you soon! (And don't forget that we are closed in January for our annual break and deep cleaning of the shop.)
Some of us can't wait for the snow to arrive and with it the excitement of the holiday season! Re-Treat this month has made it's annual slide into winter with our theme "It's a Marshmallow World". Yes, the joy of another change of seasons is upon us and Re-Treat is ready with snowmen, and trees, and more snowmen, as well as great gifts and the usual fun finds. We hope you have some time to stop by and help us usher in the holiday season! Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
'Double, double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble' is one of the most famous lines in English literature. Do you know where it's from and who spoke it? Yup, witches...in one of Shakespeare's most famous works. The words apply as we toiled to get the shop ready for this weekend and as usual we hope for you to find some trouble (make than fun) this weekend. Fall is pushing out the doors with autumn decor and pumpkins galore. Be sure to stop in Re-Treat and visit in between getting out to enjoy the quickly changing colors. Open Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
Hello, Autumn. It's nice to see you again. While it has been a lovely, long summer, we always look forward to the colors of fall. Yes, there are hints of colors amongst the trees and the vibrant green of summer is giving way to what will be a beautiful vibrant explosion of color. At Re-Treat, we have boxed up the remnants of summer including the pink colors and flowery finds and have replaced them with shades of orange and pumpkins galore (a preview of things to come).
The change of season is a welcome reminder of our fortunate life in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Hope to see you for Re-Treat's "Autumn Blessings". We will be open Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
Re-Treat Flea! It's that time of the year when we mark down goodies that have been hanging around a little too long or we are just tired of seeing. It's also the weekend that we take the fun outside on Saturday by inviting our friends to set up their own booths. This weekend we will have our regular occasional sale on Thursday 5pm-8pm and Friday 10am-6pm, then on Saturday our outside market and shop will be open 10am-4pm. Always a good time with fun people and fun finds. This is a can't miss event. Hope you can join us!
Here's a couple previews of this month's vignettes.
Yay summer! It always seems so far off as we are watching the world around us turn green in May then boom just like that it's 4th of July and we've already mowed the lawn four times. I actually think we may have skipped June. On the plus side, sometime in the last few weeks we have flipped the shop and it is ready for our July Re-Treat opening. This month we bring you lots of fun finds, some great new paintings, beautiful furniture, and original things. As always, join us July 7th-9th (post 4th festivities) and explore what's new this month. Open Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
And a few sneak peeks...
Classy in white.
Pretty in purple.
More pics will be posted soon on Facebook. Have a great 4th of July!
Each month on Thursday we have a line of friends (customers) waiting to come in the door. It's exciting to see the smiles on your faces as you enter and explore the new vignettes seeking out fun things for yourself or for others. It really is a happy place of inspiration but also a place to recall memories as stories are shared around an old dresser that may remind you of your childhood. We love those stories. And since we flip the store each month, every opening you get to do discover all over again. We are grateful to be a part of your monthly calendar and we thank you for making Re-Treat a happy place.
Hope to see you Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. Don't forget, we refresh and add new goods throughout the weekend!
And just like that, another month has gone by. Thanks to everyone that made it out in April for our anniversary celebration! It was great to see everyone and share in the excitement of six years of bringing you vintage finds, unique art, and inspiration. We are ready for our May Re-Treat Weekend and we hope you are too! So-many-unique-things-this-month.... Officially our theme is primitive paradise but there is definitely something for everyone. When you look up primitive in the dictionary you find this: relating to, denoting, or preserving the character of an early stage in the evolutionary or historical development of something. And a search for paradise yields: an ideal or idyllic place or state. So hope you can join us to seek out items with character in an idyllic place. See you Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and/or Saturday 10am-4pm. And here's a few preview pics just because....
It's time to give it another go...it's April Re-Treat Weekend. Not only that, it's also our 6th Anniversary! Yup, six years ago we decided to give this strange occasional idea a go and we still have folks lining up for thursday night's opening. That just warms our hearts. Thank you to all of our friends and customers for joining us on this fun adventure as we look forward to seeing each and everyone of you each month.
A small edit to our theme for April as apparently it will be April "Snow" Showers Bring May Flowers. Despite the snow outside we are bringing you spring and flowers and lots of new, fun things. Although it would have been entertaining to set up an entire winter display, just because :) We hope you can join us to celebrate our 6th anniversary of monthly vintage fun and inspiration. We will be announcing a few special events and giveaways over the weekend but you'll have to watch our facebook page to know what is in store for stopping in during our anniversary!
As usual: Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. See you then!
I hear the passing echoes of winter and feel the warming spring on my face. ~ Terri Guillemets
It's that time of the year when a dose of winter is intermingled with the melting of snow. The weather could take a turn in either direction but even those that love winter start to feel the pull of spring with it's sunny skies and warm days. We are thinking of spring here at Re-Treat and welcome you in to explore all the new vignettes of soft colors, flowers, and fun finds. Hope you can join us! We are open Thursday 5pm-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
Yes, it's that time when Re-Treat returns from its annual but short lived hibernation. Every year we take January off to clean, patch, and paint the walls. After decorating for 12 events (multiple days) over the year, it's amazing the amount of holes in the walls that need some attention. The refresh is done, and the store is now all redecorated with lots of fun new finds for our February event "Welcome Home". We hope you can join us: Thursday 5-8pm, Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm.
And while we are on the topic of the new year, be sure to mark your calendars for the rest of our 2016 events:
